Frequently Asked Questions

What is AI Status?

AI Status is a real-time health monitor for major AI APIs. We track the live status of OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek, and Cohere so developers know immediately when an API is experiencing issues.

How often is the data updated?

Status data is fetched directly from each provider's official status API and refreshed every 60 seconds in your browser. We also cache results locally to reduce unnecessary API calls.

Where does the status data come from?

All data comes from official provider status pages: status.openai.com, status.claude.com, status.deepseek.com, groqstatus.com, status.cohere.com, and Google's Apps Status dashboard. We do not generate or estimate status — we report exactly what the providers publish.

Is AI Status free to use?

Yes. AI Status is completely free. No account, no API key, no registration required.

What should I do if an API is down?

Check our comparison pages to find alternative providers. Many AI APIs have overlapping capabilities, so switching temporarily is often possible. We also recommend building fallback logic into your applications.

Can I get notified when an API goes down?

Not yet. Bookmark this page and check back, or follow our dashboard for real-time updates. Notifications are on our roadmap.

Do you track historical uptime?

We display recent incidents from each provider's official incident history. For long-term uptime statistics, check the individual provider status pages directly.
